My max height is about 15 inches so I can't even run a 15, unless I removed a tray holding a bunch of computer components that control the air ride, stock amp (disconnected anyway), and car phone dealio (which, too, has been removed). Not about to lose my air ride.I know I personally couldn't run an 18 in my trunk, as I've only got 17" in height and I'm definitely not upfiring it. Even 15s are pushing the height limit, so I'm pretty much stuck with 12s.
Be careful, man. I'm pretty sure I cut a wire to my fuel pump while moving my enclosure around. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifMy max height is about 15 inches so I can't even run a 15, unless I removed a tray holding a bunch of computer components that control the air ride, stock amp (disconnected anyway), and car phone dealio (which, too, has been removed). is it a trunk wall? how do you like it? cant decide on 1 monster 15 o two 12s for next build.I got a 15 in 5.5 in my tiny mazda 3 and I'm assuming your trunk is a lot bigger than mine
All the wiring and whatnot for all the components are routed and protected very well, kudos to Ford for designing it wellBe careful, man. I knew the wires were there...I guess I just didn't pay enough attention, and ended up shooting myself in the foot. I'm hoping I shorted a wire and blew a fuse, rather than wrecking the pump itself. All the wiring and whatnot for all the components are routed and protected very well, kudos to Ford for designing it well
I hate replacing fuel pumps... Anyone know why they put them in the tank instead of outside the tank with a line leading into it?I knew the wires were there...I guess I just didn't pay enough attention, and ended up shooting myself in the foot. You can angle the front face to gain more room to fit the sub....I know I personally couldn't run an 18 in my trunk, as I've only got 17" in height and I'm definitely not upfiring it. Even 15s are pushing the height limit, so I'm pretty much stuck with 12s.
I was also thinking the same thing, just have the sub on something like a 45 degree angle or so, then make some holes under the back window to bring air pressure into the cab. A box like that should be easy to build, it will only have a total of 5 sides. You can angle the front face to gain more room to fit the sub....
No just a normal box with a slot port facing back. The box is literally just tall enough to fit the sub and be able to slide in through the trunk holeis it a trunk wall? how do you like it? cant decide on 1 monster 15 o two 12s for next build.
Depends.. If you're firing forward and sealing off (which is the best orientation for most trunks with folding rear seats) then that's not very ideal. You can angle the front face to gain more room to fit the sub....
And you know all of this how???? And I wasn't talking a 45degree angle, just calculate hypotenuse and go to town. I've done a few boxes that way, although I prefer a flat baffle and cutting out metal if it's my car....Depends.. Seeing how all but one world record in a trunk has been set with subs and port firing forward, I'd say it's pretty ideal. And you know all of this how????
