16v daily?

With a 3 post battery you must charge it on the 16v post or you will damage the battery.Just run a charging wire from your alt(at 18v)then connect your vehicles electrical to the 12v post. When the vehicle is on you should have enough juice to power the vehicle and a mids/high amp no problem.

yup that exactly what im going to do..im reading that people are having issues with the battery swollen because that was there only source for 12v

im going to do the following for now:

12v battery up front

2 12v batteries in the rear

2 HC16v in rear

---Run the alternator wire directly to my rear 16v bank

--connect all the 12v batteries to all the 12v post

--use one of my existing runs of 1/0 to connect the 12v bank in the rear to the 12v battery in the front.

and as time go on im going to remove the 12v batteries in the rear and get 3 more HC16v's

So you are getting Two alts? Or getting one high voltage alt and running step down modules?

nah 1 alternator

im going to get the 3 post batteries..basically all my 12v post from my 3 post batteries are going to be connected to my 3 regular 12v batteries and then im going to connect all my 16v batteries together and run the alternator wire straight to the rear..its hard to explain i guess but i talked it over to DJ and it seems like a winner //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Its alot of grey area. But I get what your saying. Your only going to have one Alternator 16volt on with I guess extrenally regulated. I would suggest alot of 0 guage wire. Its going to be needed to charge everything correctly. Even more the front battery(ies).
