$160ish / single sub sealed box 600wrms...GO

Any chance I could get the calculations/formulas you used to figure that out? Math isn't my forte, but neither is being dependant upon other people to figure out simple measurements over the internet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Be much appreciated.
I just took the L x W x H listed on the site and subtracted out material thickness. The only thing that may change things is if the rear wall is angled... so you may want to email the seller for a little more info.
The seller lists exterior dimensions of 15.5 x 12.5 x 14, and the enclosure has slightly inset side walls. So, I figured inside dimensions of 13.5 x 11 x 12.5, which is 1856 in^3, divided by 1728 = 1.07 ft^3 -- minus driver displacement and you would be somewhere just over .9 ft^3.

But as I said before, an angled rear wall would cut that down considerably.

Doesn't want it to sound like crap= no Hype R

lol yeah I've heard too much hype about the TypeR, so I have stayed clear.

The indy rocker/hiphop fan in me says stay away from mainstream, even if its somewhat illogical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

actualy i had the type r in a sealed .7cuft. in a single cab pic up truck and the same enclosure in a pontiac fiero, so im talking about small cabs. and the type r 10" sounded very impresive. it was running of off a JL 500/1.

the sub did only last me 1 year and like 2 weeks. before i had to use the warranty.

but it did sound very good in that small sealed enclosure.

i have it in a ported enclosure right now. and its louder but not as tight as it was on the sealed.

There's nothing wrong with the Type R, as long as your goals aren't SQ-oriented. They are very durable drivers that handle more than twice RMS spec, get pretty dern loud, and are available for around $100 apiece. They just don't sound very nice from what i've heard. Plus you wouldn't even touch its full potential with 600w

type r's don't sound like crap. i got a killer deal on the ones i got or i wouldn't have bought them, but they ended up being decent subs. they are hyped up, but they are still decent subs for the money. to say they are crappy subs is simply a fallacy. maybe you heard them in a crappy install, or haven't heard them at all.

This is what you are looking for, its a jbl p1024. Read my review in the product reviews section on this forum for more info. But I just upgraded to a SI BM12 in a dimension audio ported box and it gets loud and sounds good. About dimension audio, the box is not the best quality but for the price what can you expect. I will post pics and a review soon on the boards.

i agree, there is no way that a type r can sound like crap if its functioning properly and in a decent enclosure with a decent amp and the proper type of signal, theyll impress the hell out of you. i have heard them in person from builds i have done for customers. yeah they are hyped up , but they are still great subs.

I never said that the Type Rs were bad subs. I simply said that from what I heard, they weren't meant for installs where SQ is the goal. I personally have not heard them, know. But I have done quite a bit of reading on them, and a lot of people who have had them say that they're basically meant for a budget SPL system. Yes, I know "it's all in the install", but if the goal is SQ, I believe other options should be considered
