kicker L5 vs kicker L7

Well christmas is comming up and my parents are asking me what i want. I currently have 2 12" kicker cvrs. I love em to death but i need something thats louder. So i was looking into getting ethier

2 15" L5's or

2 12" L7's

both of them rms (750rms) and peak power (1500 peak) ratings are the same. Just wondering which i should get. i really want 15"s and i have enough room cuz there going in a van, but peaople are telling me that the L7 is a much better sub and that I should go with the 12". Someone please help.

Well CVRs are somewhat compareable to the L5s as CVXs are somewhat compareable to the L7s. I would probably go with the L7s, assuming you have the power to push them. They will take/need much more than 750 watts.

my buddy had 2 15'' L5s in a grand cherokee with 1200 watts goin to them....they broke the clips on the back hatch panel. Cant open his back hatch. So what im tryin to say is they cant get reallly really loud. Dont know much about the L7s but nothing is going to be loud if u dont push it with a good amp

I see that the cvx's are compareabe to the L7's, but the L5's arent really compareable with the L5's.

CVX15" = 1000wrms

L7125" = 1000wrms

CVR15" = 500wrms

L515" = 750wrms

I will tell you this. in a proper enclosure the 2 l5 15" subs will be louder than the 2 l7 12's. imo the l7 has better sq. neither have much sq, but the l7 has an edge in that dept. it all depends what you are looking for.

I see what your saying, but the CVRs will handle 750 watts all day long and be fine. With that kind of power have you considered maybe going with 2 10" l7s. Ive heard 2 10" L7s in a focus hatch with an mtx 1501d(about the same power your working with) amp on em and it was one of the loudest setups ive heard to date. Kicker does underrate their amps so your prob working with about 1300-1400 watts rms, but i still think youd be better off going with the l7 10s rather than the 12s. Or even something like 4 or 6 8" L7s i think would be pretty neat and could sound very good in the right box. Just a few ideas.
