16 volt systems and amps

A long time ago I heard of a way to set your system up to 16 volt and they said a sundown sad 3000 could handle it, I don't know if I missed read it or what, but could someone tell me if this is true or not, because this does sound pretty interesting to actually go and do

im on 16v and i had that amp. you basically need to run a totally seperate charging system for the substage. need a adjustable regulator alternator set to 18.2v to charge the 16v batts, with that amp i would run 5 16v batts to have a nice bank, and thats about it. that amp will produce over 5000w on a 16v setup at 1 ohm. no wiring low impedance on 16v setup though you will blow your amp.

i run a 16v setup now with 2 catus sounds k5 amps, one dc power 380 amp alt set to 18.2v, and 8 xs power xp1000 batts. with one amp my voltage never goes below 16.5v on a burp.
