15's that like 3.2~ cubes $210

I've finally confirmed that I have around 3-3.25 cubic feet to work with for my new box after all displacment, and since there are 15's that sit happy in those specs, I'm going to stick with a single 15. Question is what SQL 15's that are are happy with this much space? So far my list is a DC Audio Level 2 15. Any others in the budget of $210? I'll be wiring the sub down to 2 ohms on a ASPM-1500 around 600-800 watts RMS after gain. SQ=SPL, I want a good sounding sub that likes to eat lows for breakfast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I run the wife's 15" Q in 3.25cubes @ 34Hz. Q is a very bottom heavy sub, but it does roll off around 50Hz or so. Little over your budget, but you might be able to find a used one.

It will also take more then 600-800watts, but would do fine off that power level.

3.2 isn't terribly small you could throw any sub in that size box and get decent results. It just wouldnt be optimum for every sub.
See, and I'm looking for a 15 that will sit optimally in 3-3.25 cubes. I want the perfect home for the perfect sub so I can get the maximum potential out of it.

Regarding that "Q" sub, I don't know what company that is..tried googling and I got Q Power and Audioque..Mayhaps most a link to it?

So far I'm leaning still leaning towards a DC Audio Level 2. That American Bass XFL is too much sub for me. Can't really justify spending an extra $55 from a Level 2 to an American Bass..I don't need the extra RMS wattage. 600-800 watts is just enough to get loud and keep my ears intact during old age.

Any other suggestions? I'd be happy if you linked the sub to me as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm COMING from an Obsidian 15 :p You think a OA15 will do fine in 3-3.25 cubes?? Or you think they're are better options that will do better in the same volume? I'm perfectly happy with staying with Obsidian, but I want to try something new, and particularly something that will shine, not just work in 3-3.25 cubes. And I think an OA15 will work but not shine in that volume..

Regarding Fi, I've ALWAYS wanted to bump one...they look bad asssss, and I know they get down...I only know about them because Steve Meade bumped them in his Tahoe...I know I'ma looser //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Oh didn't know you had an obsidian lol. Obsidians like smaller volumes, they recommend anywhere from 2.5 to 3.75 and 3.2 is right in the middle. How much power do you have? I don't suggest using the Q in that size box as they will want closer to 4 cubes

ASPM-1500 @ 2 ohms. After gain I'll probably be doing around 600-800 watts...

Ugh, I wish I had a SAZ1000... too perfect but too expensive for my needs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

For a small enclosure like that OA would be my suggestion, but in truth my real suggestion would be to not use a 15.
This is what I was thinking..but if I step down to a 12, it better be JUST as loud and get JUST as low as my current setup, but in all reality I want to get a tad bit louder AND lower than what I have now... I don't want to go down to a 12, and be disappointed with the output of it, knowing I could've just kept my current setup..

I'm perfectly happy with staying with OA. They. Are. Awesome! So many options. I could stay with OA, try a new company and get a little sub resume going...I don't know. I'm kinda tired to see a OA in my trunk, I want something visually different, something without a dust cap, so the 15 looks bigger and deeper, beetches love bigger and deeper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

3 cubes should be fine for a 15". I would stick with it if you're used to a certain spl level. It would be hard to match with a 12" without a lot more power.

I wonder how a TYPE R or CVX would do?

Never. Mention. Those. Brands. In. This. Thread

OA15 then? Possibally DC Level 2 15?

Suprisingly the cheapest solutions, I'm fine with that :p

Question is, which one do you think would be better in 3~ cubes? And sounds better and gets lower.

Depending on what 12 you used it would out perform what you have now. Using improperly sized enclosures is the number one reason for lack of output.
