I am going to track my gains from here... so far 156.1 dB @ 53 Hz with the new Nightshade v.2 15" woofer in the Jeep with two SAZ-4500Ds on it, each at 0.25 ohms DCR.

Electrical consists of six Stinger SPV-70 Batteries and an Excessive Amperage 225-amp alternator.

Sorry -- no power clamp results yet... someone is borrowing my clamp and I cannot get in touch with them to get it back.

A few pictures of how it sits now :

I am going to track any changes that I make that gain SPL. I plan to change the batteries to stronger SP-1700s and do a few other things... perhaps try a different box as this one is 3 years old now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sweet, no get that down to 156 @ 46 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Get that down to 46hz @ 156 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
If I had a second woofer I would, I currently only have one NS v.2 motor to play with... my dual sub box peaks @ 47 Hz.

My single box peaks @ 53 hz so that is where it will stay for this testing.

I like it can loud as piss but I want to see more... Real world testing I would say.. like the power people would be recommend to throw at these.. not 8k+.. and at a nice freq.. Not saying this isn't impressive as it is.. but as much it is a build log its advertisement and me being a possible customer would like to see what this bad boy does in daily or even just at lower freq..

This log is for SPL competitors -- you will see all of the other testing when people start getting them.

If you have seen / heard / read about the v.1 Nightshade this is alot like the v.1 except with significantly higher thermal power handling and lower distortion due to more linear stroke and significant steps to create linear / reduced inductance.

I don't do much else in my Jeep except SPL burps since every time I play music I tear up the vehicle -- I'd like to reach my SPL goal before destroying the Jeep after all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Although, I have bass raced 149.9 with this box before with the "Monster" prototype which is a dB quieter and handles less power than the v.2 Nightshade... rewired the amps at 1 ohm each.

the v2s for sale yet?

They are not for sale yet... next few months and they will be. I'm doing my usual testing before release.

In any event -- for that kind of inquiry e-mail me so I can keep this as somewhat of a log *laughs*

I am going to try the first thing tomorrow... rather than two 4500s @ 0.25 each I will try four 3500s @ 0.5 each... my impedance rise is fairly significant so this may or may not gain anything after rise.

Wanted to do this today but ran out of time.
