$150ish budget :(

I know some of you saw my other thread a little while back where i had a $225 budget, but since GOW2 is coming out I will need $60 for that too.

So again, I need some loud ass clear and detailed tweeters off 55wrms power. I know I can't get that loud with such a small amount of power but I know i can do decent.

I am leaning towards the Pioneer TS-D1720C 6.5's because I listened to them at my local shop today and they are pretty solid speakers especially at the price of $125 shipped on Ebay.

I also have looked at the RSD's, but when I heard them last in Gongshow's truck I wasn't sure if the tweeter got loud enough for me.

Lastly I am thinking about stretching out my budget for the Alpine SPX Ref's for $180 shipped on Ebay. I haven't had the privilege to hear these but I know from what I read that they will be a solid speaker set.

So, any other suggestions? If anyone has something they will sell me for that price don't be afraid to shoot me a price. I will go with used gear if it is readily available to me.

You would be hard pressed to find a better comp set than the pioneers for the money. I would compare them to sets 2-3 times the price. Way better than the rsd's. I had both so I would know. The pioneers sound almost as good as my boston pro's and they cost a lot more.

Wow, impressive. I know the mid-bass is pretty crappy on the Pioneers, but my Jeep's speakers are already sealed into the dash stock. So If i just make some MDF Rings and use some clay that should help.

Any other suggestions?

ARC KS 6006 would put those Pioneers to shame.

mid-bass is decent but overall sound is very good. RSD's do have more midbass but overall sound is not impressive compared to the pioneers.

Pioneers FTW. I have that set and love them! I'm not sure why people are having problems with mid-bass outta these, mine sound great!
