My level 4 15 blew.. again. I'm going to recone it and sell it. I'm looking at these subs. Out of these subs what do you think is the best choice?

I do not want DC or Fi, ever again. Since I first got the sub the **** thing was scratching out of the **** box. Right now I'm running a MTX Thundercast 15 and it isnt loud at all, but it sure sounds a hell of alot better. I'm willing to spend some serious cash on a good quality sub.

sounds like you need a gain setting tutorial before you toast another high end piece of equipment. Was that dc in the box in your sig? 6cubes after displacement seem awfully big for a 15.

this was what i was going to say and the first thing to come to my mind. but decided against it lol, but you did along with others.

gain matched with dmm, attempted to set gain per voltage preout per dd website.

the box volume was 3.8cuft tuned to 29hz. total size of the box was 6 cuft inc port. it had alot.. alot of port. kinda funny how the most respected box builder (ram) would steer me in the wrong way. so stfu.

so gain setting my a$$. my electrical can handle a t1000bd no problem. the dc just failed... ive ran alot of stuff. I had a 15in kicker that outlasted this dc. the dc had a mechanical problem out of the box.

scratching when excursion.. coil rubbing pole???? it didnt cook, the coil came apart and the cone is crooked. it moves forward, but not backward.

im going for the 9515 i dont mind spending that cash.

This. Also, considering that DC subs like smaller boxes, 3.8 cubes seems a bit big for a level 4 15

If it had a problem why did you not contact Rusty at DC? I'm sure if it really was THEIR problem, he would make it right.

Sounds to me like someone has been playing below tuning like crazy. =]

cause im impaitent. oh well im not trying to badmouth them entirely, ive seen alot of people running thier product with great results. but dc isnt where home is at for

me. bad exp = diff brand. and this sub was fine in 3.8cuft. its when i built my other box 3.2 @ 35hz and the sub just failed. i didnt like listening to c/s music all day to make the thing shine.

also i put the thing in a sealed box just to make sure it wasnt the box and it was the sub...
