what would be a good match for a mtx 81000d, looking for a sub that can handle 1500 watts rms and 1 ohm stable and 12'' in size. I use to have a premier 3002spl but it blew so i may get another one or I may get something different. let me know what would work well. I also have a 2.8 cube ported box tuned to I think 35 HZ but it may be 33HZ. thanks for your help. ive considered another premier, fi, diamond, orion, RE, type-x, etc but I wanted to get your input. thanks

05 RE xxx 12, itll probly stomp the premier

used to run a xxx15 off a 1501d (almost same amp) and it was a beautiful match. older xxx12 might work in that box of yours, and with that tuning freq itll sound niiiiice

you could try one of the TC-sounds subs (http://www.tcsounds.com). A TC-3000 can handle up to 2000 watts and they are selling between 240-270 i think for the 12" and 15" versions. Quad voice coil, so lots of wiring options.
i got to use a 3hp(essentialyl an older tc300) / MT softparts hybrid

it wanged off the mtx also, if u can get a tc3000 for cheaper than a xxx then definitly go for that. tc makes very very nice subs,i love mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

how hard is it to find someone selling a TC-3000, i searched in the for sale classifieds and i didnt really see any. also what is a reasonable price I could get a xxx or tc for?
You can talk to Supa-C he might still have some Tc woofers left. Also tc-sounds sells directly from their website, its just backordered, but I'm sure it'd be worth it for the price to wait. Not sure about the xxx, I dont have any expierence with those unfortuantely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i sent him a message, are the RE and TC going to be the best sub for me? or is there something else that is in the same category? also what kind of price would i be looking at to get one of these that is still under warranty or slightly used? the only reason i would kind of like to have a warranty is because my premier blew with in 24 hours of having it hooked up and i am most likely not going to be able to have it replaced so im out all the money i spent on the sub.

Hey, I thought I'd search for a thread about this bc Im looking for a subwoofer 12" that can handle 1400-1600 watts RMS also. Would a Fi Q be able to handle that, or is a Fi BL with cooling options better?

TC-3000 a better choice than Fi BL? It seems the RE XXX is impossible to buy/find now. Are they still in distribution?

Im really leaning towards a Fi BL though.

Any other input/ideas?

( PS: Dont flame me, bc chances are you guys would have told me to search so I did the right thing. =D )

I just installed a TC-3000 last week in a 3.1 cube sealed box, getting 1300~ watts from a Sundown though it can handle much more.

The TC-3000 absolutely nails the low lows, playing 20-30hz range with great authority and the clarity is incredible.

The BL leans more towards SPL instead of SQ and it has been said multiple times here that they don't go low very well.

Wow, thats the first time I heard someone say that the BL from Fi doesnt go low very well. Can anyone else confirm that? I want something that can make my body/hair shake/tingly when its receiving 1400-1600 watts RMS. The TC-3000 is kinda weird with the Ohms...my amplifier only does 4, 2, and 1 ohms stable. Any idea/tips on that?

Does anyone else agree that a TC-3000 would be lower/better than a BL with cooling options? Im looking for both SPL and SQ, but I mainly wanna feel the bass when it hits the lows.

A single tc 3000 would be wired at 2ohms with your amp. I percieve that either woofer can meet your desire.

Wiring my amplifier at 2 ohms wont give me the desired wattage, because at 2 ohms, its around 1,100 (without impediance rise) so really it'd be around 800-1000 watts RMS Im assuming. If I can wire my amp down to 1 ohms, it's 1,600 watts, really it'd be 1,300-1,500 after impediance rise though. I want to wire it down to 1 ohms. A TC-3000 wont let me do that because its under 1 ohms correct..? =(
