key to having MOST SPL biased speakers sound 'right' is to have midbass.....
most people don't have midbass, and then they complain that their subs sound like ***, because 1/2 of what people expect their sub to play is supposed to be provided by their midbass drivers...
in true form, a sub's only supposed to play 50-60hz and down... 80hz and down still sounds fine, but you need to have the 60-250hz region present for a sub to sound good
