The usual ported 15" box is between 3.5-4.5 cubic feet net.

I'm pretty sure the recommend sealed enclosure for a 15 is around 2 cubic feet net.

^^^^^^no.....if you don't give it atleast 2.5 cubes sealed, you're wasting your time with the 9's. 2 cubes would choke that 15! Yes, they'll still sound very good and still get loud but they sound BETTER, get lower and use the power given to them a lot better if you give them a bit more space that '2 cubes'!
