15" TC-3000 Vs 15" L7

Just wondering cause noone in like my entire city has ever heard of TC-Sounds, so if i got a TC-3000 it would have that "what you know about that" factor.. im just hoping that its loud as hell to back it up

But then again a 15" Type R is only like 220 dollers and we all know the deal with the R's

The TC Sounds driver are simply in a class by themselves, it is an insult to compare a Type-R or L7 to these drivers

The LMS 4000 (high QTS, and ultra low FS) will have insane low-end, more so than 90% of the 18s on the market and the TC 3000 (it is built off the TC 3hp platform, which many users are familiar with) is an absolutely insane driver with 34mm of xmax, a massive and extremely powerful motor (BL of 29), and will fit in extremely tiny enclosures.

These drivers also cost quite a bit more than an L7 or Type-R...

TC 3000's all the way. Not to hate on kicker and alpine, but I would not compare the subs with the 3000. It has insane excursion and it has almost no distortion. If you want a better sq driver I would go with the lms series from tc but they are more expensive.

Can the TC-3000s take more then 1000 watts rms or is that pretty much it?

Also, im assuming it has more output then the lms-4000 because its a 15" and has more xmas then the 12" lms

I would say they can take 1000 watts with a sinwave continually but that means almost nothing about what they do for music. There is never RMS anything with music, its very dynamic and the coil doest heat up the same way as it does with a sinwave

I have got a few reports of the 1000+ watt amps clipping with that driver. We test them with 2500 watts and drive the amp to the max for music. I have put them on an 1100 watt amp in a small box and clipped the amp, I got about 2-3dB more with a 2500 watt amp.

It has more output than the LMS-4000 because its nearly 8-9dB higher in sensitivity and it can handle more power. The LMS; however, is simply a cleaner sounding subwoofer to understate it.

These are the 12s

Sealed Enclosures

upper octaves TC3000 12" (.397 cubic feet, QTC of .703, -3dB @ 60hz) / 15" (1.125 cubic feet, QTC of .702, -3dB @ 55hz)

lower octaves LMS4000 (8.183 cubic feet, QTC of .704, -3dB @ 20hz)

THIS IS WITHOUT ROOM GAIN

Vented Enclosures

upper octaves TC3000 12" (.695 @ 24hz, -3dB @ ~43hz ) / (2.064 @ 19hz, -3dB @ 42hz)

lower octaves LMS4000 (16.534 @ 11.16hz, -3dB @ 9.5hz)

The LMS4000 has 5-7ms lower group delay till about 17hz (you cant detect group delay below 20hz, as that is the limit of human hearing and the wave is simply a pressure wave) so it will sound like a sealed box.
