15 L7 box...for fun...

one of my friends asked me to doodle him up a box for his 15 L7...but he wants to tuned low...like really low.

so i want it to rreally rumble in the 25-30hz range....

now, i wanna tune it @ 25 i think...but how large should the box be?

i was gonna say 6 - 7 cubes...we want some real astonishing low end from this thing.

Ya, if he's jankin on L7's it's just because they're a big name company probably, those L7's are no joke. I don't really prefer mainstream companies either, I happen to have two Arsenal 12's from Ascendant, but instead of jankin on the sub man help him out. Look HC, I say go about 6 cubes to about 28 hz, 25 is a lil low, but I'm not an expert, there are some people here who will design for free, I think there is one guy and I'm pretty sure his AIM screenname is SHOWARDJR. I think that is who it was... anyways, good luck with box, and it's not a bad sub, btw, just mainstream, and too much money lol, good luck.

oh designing is no problem...ive done my fair share of boxes and such, i just have never really done anything like this...just need a little direction.

6.5 cubes @ 25 hz?

the main goal is to have this completely stomp Soul Survivor.

once again this box isnt for anything but purely low-end extension, under 38hz or so...just a for-fun box.

Tuning that low is more detrimental that good. You are going to have a low Fs driver to drop that low (at least purposefully). Keep in mind that there is very LITTLE audio information in that region. Basically, it's a waste.

30 HZ is the lowest I tune - Soul Survivor note is right in that region I believe!

the lower you tune the more your sub will act like its in a sealed box.

I wouldnt make the box any larger than 6 cubes... 4.5- 5 should be plenty

i have my l7 tuned to 30 hz and it gets as low as i want it, 35-40 hz test tones rattle everything

but when it gets near 30 hz and below it slowly starts getting more and more quieter , i dont think L7's are ment to go below 30 hz... dosent kicker have their box's at like 40 hz?
