15 inch sub and 800 watt 4 chan amp, need help with my setup

4 channel amp is the problem. You need a mono or 2 channel. Stay way from boss, legacy, pyramid, crunch GPV, lanzar (cheap stuff).

What sub is it and what ohm voice coils does it have

 
What kind of box? What kind of Vehicle? What is the ohm load of the sub you are using? Are you talking about peak watts or rms watts? There is a big difference and that alone is most likely your problem. That 4ch is prob putting out 30-40wrms per channel and you are trying to run an unstable ohm load to the amp.
