i just bought the new memphis 15 inch pr subwoofer. the lady told me to wire it up at half power with a 1000 pr amp i did. then i put it on an amp that is a 600 true power and wired it up to full power and the amp wont even push it! how many watts can these subs really take?

That should be plenty of power for it. I had the 500.1 on 2 12s.....pushed them very well.

It's rated for 250 watts. Though you could probably send about 300-350 to it and be fine.

I have no idea why it's not pushing it.

i had it wired for half power when it was on the pr 1000 watt amp. i wired it to full power and put it on the 600 watt true power amp and it wouldnt move... it says its max power is 500 watts

are you talking about wiring up 1 coil vs 2 coils when you say half power and full power?

ok so theres a red/black on both sides of the sub. i put lets just say the left sides black to the right sides red, and the right sides black to the left sides red. that was the full power setup

i have came to a conclusion for the memphis 15 inch pr subs= i think they are over rated and over priced. ive had mine for 5 days and its cracked and paint is peeling...

Ok......Well first of all, they're great subs for the money.

Second.......are you tlkaing about just using 1 voice coil? You're supposed to use both. i've never heard of anyone using just 1.

And they get very loud but do not have much excursion, so if you're talking about it not moving as much as other subs, well they do but not no 22mm.

If you're pushing 600 watts through it....it would probably die in 5 days. Max I would put through one is around 300 rms.

sounds like you wired it out of phase and thats why it wasnt moving,Ive been running pr 12's on 500 watts for a couple years now with no problem. The pr line is very good for the money you just got to know how to use them:)
