Ya know, id of not believed that so much until it happened to me.
When I was in high school, before school we would hang out at a stip mall across the street. There was some un-filled sections of the strip where no business was occouping yet. Well, when it was winter and cold out we would kinda hide behind one of the walls and burn cardboard boxes to keep warm. After we left one morning we noticed a local TV crew in the parking lot and thought nothing of it. We saw on TV the next night on the news where the TV crew was doing a spot on Satanic Worshipers. In the segment, the news chick video taped where we had burnt the boxes and said "who knows what animals they burned here" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif WTF?

so yeah, dont believe the news you see...or at least take it with some healthy skepticism.

Am am fairly certain that this took place at an alternative school. My wife worked at one for 3 years and they regularly had kids arrested for disrupting school functions. They were sent there because they got kicked out of regular school. This is one way they can earn a regular diploma and/or get back into the school they were kicked out of.

As this was a strict behavior modification style of instruction, acting out and disrupting another students work is easily seen as defiance. As the school is elective, disobedience is frowned upon and action is almost always swift and to the point.

All a student has to do is touch a teacher, with one finger in an inappropriate manor and they are sent to the clink and charges are filed.

I am not 100% sure that this was the case, but the environment sure sounds like it is.

Since when is disrupting class a crime. Last time I checked it was called being the class clown. Maybe ADD. At most he should have gotten a detention.
