12w6 high output box specifications?

Hey, guys. alright so I had bought a system, including two 12w3s, i decided to upgrade to 12w6s before even installing the system. technically the ported box I had already built for the two 12w3s (3.7 cu) would be larger than recommended for the 12w6s according to jl's specs.

However after talking to my local car audio shop they told me those specs are not high output specs. So I was wondering if anyone knew specs for a high output enclosure for my two 12w6s. i really want them to hit as hard as possible, be as loud as possible. My local shop will charge me $50 to design one (not build it of course), but if someone on here could help I'm all for it.

It's for a chrysler 300 so there should be more than enough room for any enclosure for those subs.

Send RAM_Designs a private message, let him know the max dimensions you have to work with(remember to factor in the trunk opening to make sure you can get the box into the trunk. Send him the specs to your subs and your goals with the system. I'm pretty sure he'd design something for less than $50 but it all depends on complexity of design. Either way, I'd trust him over your local shop. He'll give you a full cutsheet and a full model.

Yeah for sure, If it comes to it I'll definitely do that.

I just wasn't sure if someone knew just the basic details (not exact box dimensions) for a good ho output for these subs.

So basically the website recommends 1.5c for 1 12w6 (ported enclosure is what I want). But I mean that seems WAYYYY to small to me. I'd just sort of like to know whats a good volume for the subs to be louddd. Like if someone could say for 1 12w6 2.5 c is best ported to 30hertz or something. I'd do the rest using that sub calculator site.

If not i'll definitely go the paying for route. The 50 bucks isn't a concern I just wanted to start building ASAP. Thanks again guys.

Thanks so much RAM... really appreciated. In my chrylser 300, when you fold down the rear armrest, there is no "pass through" but I've seen a pass through mod done fairly easily. Id love to build a box to those specifications you mentioned, with the subs firing to the rear, and the port coming through a diy-pass through. The pass through takes literally 20 minutes to do with a dremel once you unzip the leather seat covers, to expose the material you need to cut. Then it would just involve sewing up by a local upholstery shop the remaining leather. In your opinion (or anyone elses) would this provide good sound? I've heard a lot of people say leather interiors reduce bass significantly so I was hoping this would help

I've never really messed with firing the subs back and port forward in a trunk...seems like it'd be easy to have cancellation issues. I'd fire both to the back and still do that mod to help bass enter the cabin. Also take out your rear deck speakers, if you have any...it'll help with the bass too.
