12v setups vs 16v setups for daily only, Pros and cons?

16v is way easier. juss need an amp that will be able to mod for 16v. its way cheaper than a good strong 12v system. i run 16v daily and its awesome not havin not 1 ounce of dim at all. only down fall is juss findin an amp that will handle the 16v.

how would that work anyway, would you need 2 alternators, one to charge a 12v battery for your car's electronics and another to charge a 16v setup for the audio?
u could do that, or use a "step-down". or like kinetik has, there 16v batt has a 12v post. u can run teh car off that post and the 16v off the others. i juss charge my batts manually wit a charger. some good strong batts will hold that charge for a few days. ive went a week witout chargin my batts be4, neva got below 16.8v. i juss let em charge deep over nite.

Anybody have more info on doin the stepdown gig from 16v to 12v to run the car? I'd love to do 16v on my 40.1's for daily //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Not sure I'd trust running them off of just batteries for an extended amount of time.
