Im so so so tired of thinking about what i wana run. So many options and i figured i would get some opions. They are for my 1997 Chevrolet Astro bass race / demo vechial. The most impontant thing to me is that they will keep up w/ the bass and still sound pretty nice (for the level). I have $1200 for a budget and dont wana go over because im already hurting. The sub stage is 6 Digital Designs 3500 18's in a 4th order on around 14-15kws. Mids and highs power will come from Sundown Audio amps (100.2's or 100.4's). Please dont post or suggest pa speakers.

You should go for either the JL ZR components which are $800 per pair or the Resonant Engineering XXX components which are also $800. They are both very loud and have great sound quality.

could do what shawn did in the fi demo, AA poly mids with kicker tweets.
Yea i was considering doing something similar all tho i still havnt heared anything back from scott to see if he has anymore or status on when the new ones will be out.

RE XXX componets are far from 800 per pair ..... about half that.

1 set of components aint gonna cut it
If I was doing something like this, I'd run Altec multicell horns down to about 2KHz, and fill up the doors with high-displacement midbasses...the new CSS ones look awfully intriguing.

Would have to run active, but with 113dB/W on the top end, I don't think volume would be a problem...would sound jarringly hideous, but what won't in a situation like this...

yeah dude, you are going to need multiple sets to really be able to keep up like it needs to especially in the midbass department. FYI those compression drivers get CRAZY loud. Just get a nice set of midbass drivers to go along with it and you should be set. BTW I have 2 sets of Canton 10" midbass drivers for sale if you are interested. $100 pair brand new in box. You should be able to get everything you need under $1200 easily. Another option is 2-3 sets of 6 1/2" coaxials. There are many ways you could go but if you've got the cash, I'd go the compression driver route. Actually I think a friend has a set of veritas that he is wanting to get rid of. If you are interested send me a PM and I'll ask him about them.

14-15k on the subs ... you're gonna need alot to keep up with that lol

but then again for some reason - i wish this was a problem i could have =)
