1200 - 1800 Bridged @ 4 Ohms: Options?

What are my options as far as multi-channel amps that put out anywhere from 1200 to 1800 bridged @ 4 Ohms?

I was looking at the Soundstream 1400.2, but want to know what my options would be. Budget would be around 400 or so.

No, I don't want to switch to 2 ohms or 1 ohm because I already have my woofers bought (2-MJ-18 8 ohm:yumyum: )

That's fine, just look for a two-channel which is rated / stable no lower than 2 - ohms (in other words, not 1 - ohm stable).

The tarantula you are looking at will do it's rated power and do what you want. I love the inputs on that amp, very well done... all connections on one side, and countersunk.

That amp is the only one that I know of that's A/B. But no reason to insist on A/B. If you can find a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200 it is more efficient than an A/B and does full power into 4 ohms. Same with the big Xenon (almost impossible to find though).

- That's good information... 99% of car amps are designed to put out max power at 2 - ohms or less... only other ones I know of that put out full power into 4 ohms are the JL Audio amps. Are the Phoenix Gold like the JL's in that respect?

My lanzar does 1400W RMS at 4 ohm bridged //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
No it doesn't.

Not even on a good day (if you're talking about the Vibe286 that's listed in your signature...)

To the OP ~

Would 1100 do the trick?

Interfire sells a 2-channel amp that makes 1100 @ 4 Ohms bridged //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif but I don't know if that's quite enough for what you're wanting.

Those models of PG amps were like the JLs in that respect, yes. Same power over the entire range of rated loads.

eh, if i wanted 1100, i would go with the US AMPS 1600.2, just because I'm a fanboy.

BTW...looked up the PG Tantrum 1200, it only does rated power at 14.4 volts? at 12.5 it puts out 250 watts?

j/w, why did you decide to go with the 8ohm version instead of the 4ohm, it would be easier finding a class D amp stable at 2ohm and it would be better on ur electrical.

Oh, and the alpine PDX also does regulated power from 4ohm to 1ohm if you can afford it

the PDX makes power from 2-4 ohms

to the OP...kicker zx2500 puts out lots of power at 4 ohms and has room if you wanna drop down to 2 ohms later
