120+ Feet of Deadening

Umm, I don't pay for food
Well I am ready to shut these rattles the hell up. I am looking at doing my front doors (outer, inner skin and the inside of the plastic panel), trunk lid, around the trunk and the rear deck.

Will 120+ feet be enough?

I am thinking about the NEW eDead v1se^2 or Raamat BXT. The Raamat is about $50 more for 125sq ft of deadening but I think it may be worth it.

So will 2 rolls of Raamat (~125sq ft) or 125sq ft of eDead v1se^2 be enough for doors, trunk lid/walls and rear deck? I am not doing the trunk floor, yet.

I am thinking

- 60 sq ft for 2 doors.

- 30 sq ft for trunk lid

- 15 sq ft around the trunk

- 20 sq ft for the rear deck

Is that enough, or do I need more?

Well I want to do outer skin, inner skin AND the plastic inside part of the door. The plastic part of the door is where the speaker is mounted. It isn't mounted on the inner metal skin. That's why I want to do most of the doors.

I have been deadening my car with the bxt the past couple days and so far have one door, trunk lid, and rear deck done and that took up one roll of bxt. It might have been overkill in some spots, but o well. Also the ensolite is a good addition to the bxt.

Drop Rick at Raammat an email. He will be able to answer all your questions probably better then we can. Personally I used about 100 sq feet for 4 doors, trunk lid, rear deck and a few other misc. places.

You like the BXT?

I will be getting 2 rolls.

How does it stick? Did you heat it or just apply it with a roller? Is it easy to work with?

Also was it cold out (were the areas where you applied it cold) when you applied it?

Have you tested your system with it to see if it's done its job?

I just want other peoples experiences. Of course the owner is going to talk good about his product. I want to hear other peoples opinions.

Oh my bad, I thought you wanted to know how much you needed.

Personally I love the stuff (BTX). It is easy to work with and doesn't cut your hands. I didn't use a heat gun or roller as it stuck really, really well without one. I applied most of it this summer in about 80 deg weather, but have done some in about 40 degree weather and it stuck fine. No smell either.

As far as testing it, yeah it did its job. My doors sound solid now, I have greater midbass output and the midrange frequencies (before I had my kicks) were less distorted.

I would also advocate for some sort of foam with your mat too as it helps cut down on road noise and such.

Well it seems that you got 2 Rolls of Mat. What did that cover?
2 layers on the trunk lid

2 layers spare tire well

1 layer on the rear deck

1+1 layer on the back doors

3+1 layer on front doors

Needed spots on the floor

+30 sq feet remaining that went on molding, trim, plastic pieces, etc.

As I suggested though, contact Rick. He will give you a no BS assessment of what you need.
