12 Type X vs. 12 L7

me personally i dont like kicker squares unless the are in a big ported box. but thats just me . i llike the way the x sound tho and they take up less room.

X will sound better IMO.

give the L7 more space and power it will be a good bit louder.

i'm going to have it hooked up to a 9102 which is rating at 850 @2 ohms so i was going to get the gain to 38.7 volts. should i push it with more?

1.3 feet^3 is all i have for daily. i'm going to build a ported box for comps. which one will do better in the 1.3 feet^3?

well i know the x's specs say .65- 1.25 feet^3 for sealed and the L7 says .88-2.0 feet^3 for sealed. I have a L7 and wanted to know if i would gain anything by getting a X (other than sound quality).

I've had both subs (an older L7), and I like the sound that the Alpine produced over the L7.

if that's the room you have, look at the Kicker CVX 1.25 is perfect for a 12"....

yea thats all the room i'm willing to use for my daily box. I already have the L7 and like it but i wanted to know if i a X would be better for spl because i know it would kill the L7 in sq.

i believe L7 is going to be better for SPL, but def not SQ

well SQ is based on install and user, in the right box, the L7 will have alot fo SQ, just not that size and box.

Can you trade it for a CVX??

i guess i could. what size of box are we talking about for a minimum? (for the l7 to sound better)
