8" might just be as good as it gets for a sub that'll take that kind of power. I'd get that DD if i were you

Why would an 8" be as good as it gets? Lots of high powered 12s out there without huge mounting depths

i guess my wording was wrong, i shouldve said "id try to make the 8" mounting depth work to run the DD, as it would be my choice if possible."

Im in a similar situation too, as i drive a single cab. But i'm able to fit around 10" mounting depth

Yes. Just a ring to space the sub out 3/4"
