12" Type R VS. Treo SS

Well I have two choices rite now. I can eiither get 2 12" Treo SS subs or 2 12" Alpine Type R subs. They would go in a custom built sealed elclosure 1.25 cu/ft. I can get both for 300$ a pair. The diff is type r's would b brand new and the treos would b 3-6 months old. What would b better and louder for the money? thanks guys

might end up getting memphis 1100 watt amp or hifonics brutus 1500 for xmas. I want to upgrade everything. So your saying i should take the SS over the R's? what amp should i run it with

First of all port port port port port. Second, get the Treos, Thirdly, what are the treos? Dual 4 or 2, that will decide your amp.

Did you mean to tell him to get the dual 2 because theres nop way to wire a 4 ohm dvc sub to 1 ohm. but yea i would suggest getting the dual 2 ohm dvc wiring it at 1 ohm to the hifonics 1500. i would try to build a bigger box if possible

he means 2 4 ohm subs. 4+4 in parralel is 2 ohms for both subs, 2+2 in parralel is 1 to the amp.

He's got ya there. Dual 2 ohms would end up running the amp at 1/2 ohms. A little on the low sde don't you think??? The treos would kick the crap out of the alpines. They would be all over them like a fat kid on a smartie.
