yessir it is. i believe it has the bp option , but i dont know because i never seen one with and without one. either way , it takes the 1k like a champ and i could probably throw another 3-500 at it with no problem.

only thing i got to say is that it is a bit boomy on some rap songs but thats because the box i have it in. 3.8 @ 30 with ~50sq in of port. if it were smaller or sealed it wouldnt be a problem , not that it is , but yeah.

I just got an RD audio 1750.1 in a trade, which is the same amp as the Sundown 1500.1. If I really like it, I may go all sundown eventually. (RD doesnt have a big 4 channel) I havent hooked it up yet, that why I am asking about subs, cause I want to match it to a good set of subs to give it a chance to reallly perform.

i have experience with all of the subs, id take the Icon over the other 2 for what you discribed wanting.
