you know what......this discussion is pointless.

some people are going to think the Type R is louder while others think that the SE is louder...

people have different vehicles...etc.

The SE is a pure sq woofer....its not that loud compared to a Type-R.....

manufacturer specs....I try to stay around them...what do you use to find optimal box sizes?
I feel that RE specs are pretty accurate.

so you dont agree with the enclosures I used for the subs?

BTW...oversized boxes = teh boominess.

I'd go a little larger for both subs actually. And don't even bother posting another graph up here. Any dedicated SPL person knows those graphs are crap.

y dbhittin, wha makes u say that, no way in hell a SE beats a R in spl, it juss isnt happening, thats not wha the SE is made for and i see y. its an nice sq sub that gets fairly loud, but nuthin like the abilities of an R. i juss dont see it happening. if an **** SX cant beat an R wha makes u think the SE would???? and i have ownd both also

They are completely different in terms of build quality, performance, and ability.

maybe install, thats has alot to do wit it. but the 04 is nuthin like the 05. looks like 2 totally diff subs and they show do perform like it also.

I can make an MT get as loud as an SE, does that mean they are similar speakers?

The ABILITY to perform better is there, not that most people take advantage of that.

im not gonna argue anymore, i did love the R and it got loud... but it didn't take 800rms very well

tommy its not possible, only RE sub can handle power like that, u should put ya SX back in and not break a 50

older model.. i will say it was louder than the 2 12's i have now
