Ahhh....not like crazy out tuning...its tuned to 40ish and playing what 32hz......dont know why it does that besides just asking to much from it

honestly bro, with that much power i think its doing just fine. its under, tuning, a grip of power, and it not even bottoming out TERRIBLY, just a decent bit. i think once you split the power between 2 hdcs to each 500.1, you will be just fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sry. i didnt give the particulars.1)that is with the passenger side door open.

2) It is on music and it was peaking on a 30 Htz. note.

3) The box if i recall right is 18 inches deep, 48 inches wide, and 21 inches heigh. i have the subs up with two six inch aero ports out the passenger side firing into the third door. the ports are the full length that you get when you buy.

****...150 @ 30hz on music...beautiful! i dont have the time right now, but i will do some math and figure out what size and runing that box is. id be interested to know what others experiences have been.

Its not a SPL sub....soo its doing just great for what it is

I still cant get over the lows.....when i was contemplating on ordering i had my head set that it would be like a beast on 45hz songs and up, and punchy type stuff

But its almost just the opposite, its nuts on the lows...but still crazy on like Push that and Air Forces

Could be my vehicle helping out with the tuning.....but in my app. 40hz is perfect...hell...maybe a lil to low haha

I'm planning on going with two HDC315's dual 1-ohm in a 9.44 cubic feet box. Would a 2000 watt RMS Hifonics brutus amp be enough to push them or do I need more? And what tuning frequency do you recommend for them. I read alot of people are satisfied with rap music tuned at 40 Hz. Did ya'll use the port calculations they told you to use on their website or did you make your own?

BTW, these are going in a ford crown victoria.

So George, is that the sound your sub is also making? You never answered the O.P.

the very first video, it sounds familiar. but it would be much easier to tell it apart, if i could get a sound of it firing straight back out of the explorer with the hatch opened, so i dont hear any bass like you do when your all sealed up and inside trying to take a video lol.

the second video, is bottoming out. so no, thats not the noise i hear.

Does yours ever bottom out on how many ever watts your putting to it?

it will bottom out on the low note heavily under full tilt with no SSF (kickers is 25hz on/off). and with the SSF on, it pretty much reaches its limit in the 38hz tuned box, but wont bottom out on about 66-67/70 on the eclipse cd5k

You think tuning a tad lower would prevent this? Or larger/smaller box?

tuning lower would help definitely. if anything i would tune lower (around 33hz or so for my application) and keep the box size the same, or make it a little bigger (4.5 maybe). try to gain some low end too.

So you feel the power from the kicker is more than enough for this sub?

it can move a bit more on the upper end with more power. its not completely maxed out, but it can get moving on the kicker for SURE.

its kind of like the BTL. you can run a memphis 4kw off it, but whats the point when you can run the kx2500.1 and loose less than a db, gain effeciency, and save money on electrical? not even a worthwhile upgrade in MY application.

Yeah its definitely just reachin just out of its limit in tuning with the power its seeing. Those low low notes in all the jeezy songs are ridiculous, two of those babies will eat that shit up. Yehh...nuts....J25 had his 1 12HDC tuned to 34hz i think and that thing still peaked at 48hz....crazy stuff
