12" '05 XXX box help

I recently bought one of the old version Re xxx's. It is the 12" sub. I need some help on some box sizes for SQL. If any of you are familiar with these subs and what size boxes they have the most SQL in. If at all possible I would like to know a ported enclosure and a sealed enclosure that is best for it. For the ported box, 25-30 hertz is about where I would like it to be tuned.

Space is not a problem in my car and I will be running it in 1ohm with a NINe.1 that e.d. benched for me at 1600 rms in 1ohm at 13.02 volts

Yeah right that thing benched at 1600 rms? .. We shall see about that. My two nine1.s are coming monday/tuesday.

What did you use to bench that at 1600rms? I'd say 3-3.5 cubes tuned to 35-36hz. I'm not a fan of the ultra low tuning, my box is tuned to 37hz and gets loud and low around 32-36hz. It depends on the vehicle a lot. 25hz is wayy to low. 35 will be loud and sound just fine, I'm running L7s and the SQ is very nice, not sloppy at all, it's very clean. Plus you're running an XXX, they sound great anyways.

To me subs that have 25+mm's of excursion are begging to be sealed, but I think the old boner was 32 hz tuning.
