Hey guys, i figured you could help me a little here. Im sure some of have experience with ssackett's subs so hopefully i've come to the right place.

Im going for wow factor, so i figure 2 8's would be awesome. YOu know how it goes, "its not the size of the boat, it's the motion in the ocean" type deal. Keep in mind im powering whatever sub or subs i get with a MTX1501d, around 1500 @ 2 ohms. I have around $300 to spend.

Im seriously torn between the 2 right now, or 3 or 4. I originally wanted to get 2 DD Audio 1508 single 4's. Then the price just went up not too long ago. Then i saw i could get the Soundsplinter RL-i8 for around the same price but with better SQ and maybe more power handling from what i've been reading. Then i stumbled upon the SA-8's and was just amazed at the monstrous motor on it, but the price is what stood out. My local dealer quoted me $130 plus tax, so i could definately get 2 of those if they are available, which he thinks they are.

But i cant get past this deal on craigslist>>>12" Custom Subwoofer 2000 watts RMS

He wants $150 for this sub, and he linked me to the page on this forum, and i found out that it was built by ssackett and the DC cap was a random cap he had to put on it.

The only thing keeping me from getting another 12 is because i have a DD2512 on that MTX amp and i was trying to do something a lil different.

In my scenario would you guys go for wow factor with 2 8's or will this ssackett sub be enough wow factor and still sound as tight and clean as the 8's.

Sorry for the long post, i just need a lil help on this decision, i dont always have cash to spend like this, so i try to make the wisest decisions, which includes hours upon hours of researching through forums

Thanks guys!

Well i just bought a different truck, i went from a '90 1500 standard cab to a '89 2500 extended cab. When i switched trucks i took my whole system and put it in my wifes 03 Grand Prix. So i basically gave her the 2512 with a 600 watt amp and i started out building myself a new system.

Reason i mentioned the trucks is because i had a middle console box with amp rack in the standard cab, and i plan on doin the same in the ext. cab. I had the 2512 downfiring about 2 inches off the ******, and a port firing out the rear on the floor at the back wall, it was **** loud, but i think i might be able to get a bit louder with 2 8's, or maybe the ssackett sub.

that ssackett dc sub is dual 2ohm i beleive...i do like my sa8's tho...
The seller says it's a dual 4, but he could be telling me that just so he can get it sold, he's been sittin on this sub for a good while. I mean the only way to tell is to put it on a DMM right?

Well that was easy, no thanks to you's guys, J/K. My local SA dealer just called and said he could have 2 of the SA-8 in by this Wednesday for $276 total, that works out perfect. I appreciate those who tried to help me out. Have a good one guys.

No, from DS Autosports. I am ordering one for now until michaellane gets back to me on the last sa-8 he has for sale. Im also getting a SAE-1000 tomorrow to put on that sub and see how high i can get the gain until it distorts. When i get the second sub, im gonna put the MTX 1501d on em, they should like around 700 watts a piece comftorably.
