is this good enough to run 2000 watts rms...i have the grounds done out of the big 3 in 0 gauge...my alt went and i can get one for like 180 lifetime warrenty, or i can get a guy to build me one thats like 140A for 200 with a year warrenty, i dont want to spend more then 225 on an ALT i figured even 160 should be decent...should i buy the one thats 110A and only 180 with lifetime, or should i try the 140A alt. thanks guys

id get the more powerfull alt.. you never know you might want a bigger amp down the road...
no im pretty sure in this car im not going to go with more power. im just wondering what to do because i can get a alt that is 110A which is stock with a lifetime warrenty or this guy can open mine and bring the amps up to around 140-150 for around 200-225 with a 1 year warrenty.

im wondering why my alternator went, i have 0 gauge wires, pioneer 860mp installed last week, the grounds done out of the big 3 in 0 gauge...a yellowtop up front and when i checked my voltage at the amp last week when i installed the deck it didnt go below 13.8-14.0 even on a song with alot of bass at maximum volume without distortion, so maybe i just needed a new alternator? kinda confused on what to do dont want to spend 400-600 for a 200A alternator

remember, as you go deaf, you want more and more to make it sound just as loud... happens to all of us //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yea i know but in this specific car with the space i have theres not going to be a crazy amount more to do without spending crazy money...so im just looking for something that will hold up for a long time in this car...bump

I ran about 1100w with a 110A alt.

It ran fine, but I have pretty mild listening habits. About half the time I had my sub amp off listening to AM radio.

I would get very minor dimming when I was really blasting it.

In my case I wouldn't have hesitated to go to 1500 or so, but 2000?? I would think that would take something closer to 150.
