10W7 vs. ID Max 12 d4 v.3

Im sorry for making a thread like this Im sure alot of you hate them.Ive narrowed down my search to these 2 subs.Which one would be a better overall sub?I can get the 10w7 for 250.00 used and the ID is 250.00(hopefully) but its new.Any input is appreciated.

both great woofers. how much power you have to use? and what kinda build are you planing to do?

The amp is a Kicker 750.1.As far as a box goes Im not sure.Ill probably do 2cf. box.Im not sure if I should go sealed or ported.

I have heard lots say that the ID Max is a great woofer and sounds amazing.

I personally like my dub7....

how much room you have?

the 10w7 works great in a 1.5/2cf. vented enclosure

and the idmax works great in 2cf. and bigger vented enclosure

i think they r both great woofers and if space is not a concern

go with the brand new woofer

Space is not a concern.Im kind of leaning towards the ID.Ive read alot of great reviews.It seems like the JL is a little more SPL and the ID seems like more of a SQ sub.Would this make sense?

Nope, because the w7 will have less bl and suspension related distortion, making it cleaner and more "sq" oriented.

However, people often don't like the sound of the w7 because they're more familiar with traditional drivers.

with the power you are running i would go with the IDMAX!!! they sound f'n awesome! my buddy ran 2 10s in his ext cab and they got loud and sounded great! but they got stolen a couple months ago

i have had both subs in a sealed 1.75 cu. ft. enclosure with about 1000 watts going to them. i'll be ****ed if i could tell you i heard a real difference.
