I bought a 10W7 and a JL500/1 and it sounds great and load. Then a friend brought his truck over and we installed his 800rms RF amp. WOW it got so much loader. At first i had a 250/1 hooked up to it. once i added the 500/1 it got about 30% louder. With the 800rms RF it was just as much (30%). Now im thinking about getting a bigger amp. I dont think i would go the JL route becouse of the price of the 1000/1. Would my sq suffer becouse of this? Thanks.

i think jls subs and amps are great but overpriced.

You could get a good amp for $300-375 or you could get a middle of the line amp like the viper1200.1 for $189

the viper is underrated from what ive read. Someone on here had one bench tested and it was putting out over 1300 w rms at 1 ohm. i have this amp and it works great for me.

just search around and look for some good deals.

ikesound.com has some good prices on some solid amps.

i agree, JL is ovepriced to. If they had the worlds best or worlds most solid sub or amp, then yeah i would say buy a 1000/1 , but there are so many diffrent options to choose from. jus search around. The only good youll have out of JL is that youll make them richer , and youll be.....well broke.
