do i need to upgrade my alternator or add another battery or do the big 3 upgrade if im going to use an ap15001d at 1 ohm(it says it wold be pushing out 1500 watts rms at that impedance on the website)?would just like to know ahead of time before i even think anymore about buying this amp.

If your current battery is in good working order then you can use that amp with just the BIG 3 upgrade. A 2nd battery or HO alt is always nice but not necessary at that wattage(actually amperage) level. The AP15001d is shipped with a 100 amp fuse. You may have slight dimming and voltage drop but not anywhere near the point of amplifier damage.

I have an ap15001d and I only got to use it 15 minutes before it popped and i sent it back to be warrantied.

really? maybe i should think twice about getting this amp then... is it better to do a high output alt or double up? also does the second battery have to be the same brand as the first?

Upgrading your alt is always the best thing to do but dumping the kind of $$ necessary on an alt is a complete waste for just 1500w. Big 3 and a batt in the back will be just fine
