and my famous quote "IMO" it's not bs it's our OPINION but as squeak pointed out to me before MY opinon can be wrong even though it's an OPINION with that i say
PYRAMID AMPS FTMW!!!!!!
Are you just trying to be an ignorant *** now, instead of just a ***?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Well, "IMO" I think the world is flat because when I look as far as the eye can see, I don't see no curve. Don't confuse your opinion with objectionable reality. If you're called out on your "IMO" it's because you're confused, not because someone is telling you that your "IMO" is not your "IMO." This is all IMO, of course. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

not a *** :p and yes being ignorant. i will admit to that. my thing is if there is no "sound difference" in the amps how come when magazines and what not review them they always say things to the liking "the sound is almost as good as an ab amp" or something similar

no no no i was told my opinion was wrong. i did not give no specs or anything and plainly said i think ab sound better and i was told i was wrong.

Im not saying your wrong, i dont really care. To each his own. For myself coming from running older class a/b amps and then to running new class d's i dont see any difference. Ive ran my a/b's on comps and they sounded nice, but i have never hooked up comps to a class d so i couldnt tell you there. My orion's pumped out some jigga watts, but they were also hot. My 20.1 pumps out some good wattage too and sounds exactly the same on subs, it just runs much much cooler.

You're confusing sound quality better, with personal preference better. Totally different things.

Fact: amps sound different. There's no question about that. If you say "all amps sound the same" you are wrong, because they do not.

Opinion: my amp sounds better because....bla bla bla...

Opinion stated as fact (aka 'IMO'): my amps have better sound quality because I know what my ears tell me.

You pickin up what I'm puttin down, there broham?

I agree with Horseman...
There is an audible difference between class AB and class D amplifiers. Class AB does not throw the distortion levels that class D amplifiers do. For those that actually appreciate sound quality you can hear a difference. True that "clean power is clean power" however class D amplifiers ARE NOT CLEAN by any means.

Class D amplifiers will continue to increase their power output 3-4X their rated power as the distortion level increases from 1% to 5% to 10%. Class AB amplifiers actually run into a wall as distortion levels increase.

Regarding efficiency, class D amplifiers ARE more better than class AB amps at 4 ohms by 10-15% however as the amplifiers load down (1ohm) the difference is 2-3% at best. Are most poeple running class D amplifier at 4 ohm.. NO! most will run them at 1ohm. So is there a difference minimal at best.

For me, not enough to sacrifice the sound quality of a good class AB.

Wow, i cant believe the debate continues. A PROPERLY built class D will ALMOST be indistinguishable from a class A/B amp. When I say this i admit it has to be purpose built, the Zapco 9.0 I run is one of these. My Class D amp will run full range if I ask it to although I would never do so. In a TRUE SQ setup I DO believe you CAN tell the difference. Richard Clark if that is your point, has put alot of stipulations in his offer btw.

I have owned a pair of Zapco 9.0's and a pair of Crown BPX 2200.1's

two of the best class D amps on the market and neither one of these amps

have near the woofer control that my Class A/B Crown A3000gti has

it's not even close...the difference is jaw dropping
