My amp is stuck in protect

Hello everyone, today while I was driving out of nowhere my amp went into protect mode and has not powered back. I have the remote wire connected to a 12v switch if that matters. I was on the free way and I turned the switch on to start bumpin. Then out of nowhere the sub stoped working and I notice it was simply flexing up and down very slowly so I flipped the switch off. Just in case it was damging the sub in any way... Does anyone have an idea of what it may be?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

The 12v switch it was hooked up to, could that have damaged the amp?

You might have just been driving it too hard into clipping and it went into protect mode. On my buddies amp, once it goes into protect mode, it will not go off until you power it off and then turn it back on again. So hopefully your amp isn't damaged and/or stuck like that. Have you tried simply turning the switch off then back on. Maybe re adjust your gains?

Yeah Ive shut it off several times and everytime I switch it back on its still in protect and causing the sub to just go up and down really slow

Could the 12v switch possibly have damaged it because now im scared to connect a new amp the same way.

I've seen plenty of setups with a switch for the amp though? can anyone clarify this?
