$1000 budget help me with a setup please?(most bang for my buck!)

* I drive a 1999 Toyota Camry LE w/o pocket below factory radio

Front door speakers - 6-3/4''

Rear speakers - 6x9''

Two small tweeters - by the sideview mirrors(interior)

In-dash stereo depth - 7-3/4'' *

-The only thing i have my heart set on is the head unit deck - Alpine-IDAX001

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=500IDAX001&search=idax001&tp=5684

I chose this because i extensively use my ipod(doesnt have a cd changer though)

I was told that i can only use an ALPINE cd changer for it..(bit expensive)

-I am currently looking for an amp and then 4 speakers to accomodate/upgrade my factory car audio setup, i plan on adding an additional amp and a sub down the road...

-I would also like to futureproof myself for an additional amp and sub by buying the necessary wires/cables for this proposed upgrade.

-also what wires would i need to utilize the aux in/out of the Head unit? i want to use my ipod's videos capabilities but utilize the headphone jack of the ipod just for the audio.

-I am ultimately looking for a crisp, clean and punchy sound that also accomodates for the warms and highs of acoustics and classicals. I listen to mainly hard rock, rock, metal and some eletronica/experimental.

-Along with the suggestions for the amp/speakers if you guys can also give me a list of all other necessary hardware that is required to DIY this upgrade, thank you!

-please let me know if i missed something that is needed!

-I prefer to shop physically at this store http://www.abtelectronics.com as they are extremely competitive with manual discounts and what not.. they want a little above $300 for installation of 5 hours or so. I would very much like to save that!

* on a final note, i am completely new to car audio but i have built a few computers and done quite a few home theater installations and internet networking. Will the audio installation pose a big problem to me? I am willing to learn and very patient. *

thank you soo much!

visit this site get some deadening for your doors

http://secondskinaudio.com/

my doors have about 20sq ft of damp per door, 1 gal of sludge between the two and overkill on inner and outer skin.

Now that is overkill but the more the better

and install is not that hard on that car, i would try to find a friend who actually knows something about installing, not someone who just says they do.

Also let your ipod be controlled by that unit, alpine is the ipod king its makes no sense to use the aux input

are component speakers more complex to install?

are component speakers more complex to install?
Honestly yes, but it is well worth it. There are very few coaxial speakers that can touch the quality of those components.

You already have stock tweeter locations, so that makes it much easier. All you have to do is replace the tweeters like you replace other speakers and find a place to install the crossovers.

comps up front are a must IMO,rear speakers are not needed......

You can do alot of shopping and drive yourself nuts,FUN.....stay away from Alpine

if your looking for bang for the buck, cause your paying for a name thats no where near

as good as it used to be (for HU's) I like Excelon, half the price and better sound.

Your car is easy to do an install and save the cash but if your going to pay an installer to do it

I reccomend you buy all the parts from them or you'll end up paying twice when they screw up your supplied parts.
