10" type-r's

Well, I'm building a box for my new type-r 10's in the morning...

I am going 2.4ft^3 net total, and I am tuning it to about 36hz....

I am planning on running the subs facing towards the back of the car w/the ports firing up...

Using the port calculator it recommends two 3" ports 10.05" in length.

Does this sound ok for those subs? I'm hoping that's enough port!

It is in the trunk but I would have to put a turn in the port as the box is only 12" deep and the ports have to be 10" long, so I'd think it'd be better to port out the top....

I just don't like having the port that close to the back wall.... it'd be 1.25" away...

Why? I trust you I was just wondering why it's better? Is it less port noise? The port will only be about an inch and a half away from the carpet on the wall of my trunk if I have it exit on the passengers side. I have about 5 or 6 inches between the top of the speaker box and the deck lid in the back of my car.... What do u think?
