10" flared port buildup

Holy fawk dude! That thing is sexy. Your gonna paint it up all nice and smooth I assume, what color? What box and tuning is that all for?

The planned box will be 5.5 cubes tuned to 40 hz. Going in my 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The port is pretty **** big for 2 12's, I know. I might upgrade to a pair of 15's down the road. I haven't decided if I'm going to paint it yet. As long as it's smooth, I'm okay with it. Ok I gotcha. Thats gonna be pretty sick no matter which way you end up lol. I would some nice paint on that bad boy and make it the center point of the system lol

Awesome job man... looks good. I recently did something similar... but never thought to use bondo and wider rings to get a larger flare. Now I'm rethinking mine. Mine is only 6".

noice. Saw that on PWK. To get an even better flare, you could use different thickness of wood. Start with 3/4 then 1/2 and 1/4. I would still prefer a port like yours over a plastic one. Aeros and PSP ports are great but I like my ports to be solid with no vibrations. It was difficult to get a good flare instead of just an expansion but it came out pretty good. I still have to smooth it out a lot though, even on the outside. Time to bust out the belt sander.

That's the bondo brand body filler. The "higher end" kind compared to the grey kind. I couldn't find any rage around here so I went with this.

Yeah, it took way too long for what it does. I had fun building it though, and it worked better than I had hoped it would.

I just used a single spiral upcut bit. Still works great.
