10 min play time... worth it to try again?

I got a call this mornin from the repair shop, my visonik monster was fixed and ready to go. Drive the 40min to the shop, got it, just installed it 20 min ago, gain all the way down, low volume, eq settings very conservative, it played fine for a few songs.

Buttoned up the wires and went for a drive, to see what it could do. Turned up the gains a little (1/4 turn) and on half volume it was making some decent bass, voltage was staying above 14volts, turned the volume up to 1/2, voltage goes to 13.6-13.7 and after 5 seconds or so the bass simply cut in an out for a second, then gone. SHIT

Pulled over, pop the hatch.... nice little billow of smoke... GREAT. Amp still has power, no protection light, wasnt warm at all, just NO output now

The shop I got it fixed at put a sticker on the cover, and they didnt pickup when I tried to call them (there closed I think) so I dont wanna open up the board to see what happened

They gave me a 90day warranty. And my install was fine. Think they will cover it?

Is it even worth it for me to keep fumbling with this amp or is it simply a pos, and broken and repairing it so many times isnt doing it any good?

Im kinda pissed that I waited 2 weeks for it to be fixed, paid $200, and it lasted all of 15 minutes

You mine as well have them repair it again since you got a warranty. I would buy another amp and just try and sell that one tho.

Well ya Im pretty sure there gonna fix it, they seemed like good guys, and I did nothing wrong. The first time it blew it was my fault, I low volted it, but this time the voltage was perfect (as Ive upgraded my electrical)

Just sucks relying on one part, and I dont get any bass until they fix it.

ANd then I dont know if its just gonna keep happening, spending $500 on a amp to completely replace it that does close to its power (ZX2500) @ 2ohm makes me cry though

I just want some freakin reliability

sounds like vibration is your problem...idk if its staying above voltage as you say it should be a problem...if i where you id get it repaired and sell it

My MM3000.1 did NOT like being mounted to my box. It would make the amp go into protect on certain notes. Now thats its off the box I run it at .3 daily without a problem. Might be your problem...

why dont u run a aq 2200 at .5 ohm daily?

It's not the fact it's on the box it's just those amp's are known for never working right after being repaired. I can't count the number of people who bought those amp's and after getting them repaired had nothing but problem's with them. That's the main reason some amp repair place's won't touch them anymore. They are great amp's for the price's but just not worth the hassle especially if you're buying a repaired amp.
