10 and a 12 in a 2 chamber box?

How would a 10 and 12 sound in a 2 chamber box? I was planning on fiberglassing behind my back seat and for visual effect using a 10" and a 12". I know there will be 2 different tones, but will it sound okay?

Usually you try not to mix different subs and sub sizes. Because when you have different subs (including different sizes) subs will tend to cancel out eachother.

you could always put them in a single chamber box and focus all your power on the 10

Doesn't a 12 hit harder that a 10 causing no cancellation right because of different tones and hz? If they where sharing a chamber, will they still cancel? What if they are seperated?

1. shared chamber... NO

if you put two different sized subs with different specs ( TS PARAMETERS ) then you will destroy one or both of your subs because it they would react differenty to the air inside the box with and when one reacts differently then it's like playing a speaker while pushing down on the cone.. you don't do it.

2. separated chamber... STILL NO.. Well i wouldn't reccomend it.

Yes the 12 would probably be louder to some extent but they still create sound waves and when sound wave clash they cancel each other out. which would create all sorts of dips and crappy sounds to your spl curve.

3. your best bet to select either the 12 or the 10 and put it in the box. but if you do the 10 and 12 together it will be like playing your door speakers like subs and running your subs at the same time ( sounds REALLY crappy ). And with the cancellation yes you WILL get cancellation if you run the two together.
