1 sub to replace 4?

Im runnin 4 CVR 12s and a Massive p1500.1. I want to sell the 4 12s and just run 1 LOUD 15 or 18. Can I do this and be louder? Im not even hittin a 40 on the TL, so keep that in mind. Its in the trunk of a Grand Marquis. What about a MT, BTL, HD3? 15s or 18s? I want a sub I can have room to upgrade my amp and still be able to take it, meaning I plan on running 2000+ soon enough. I really need some help guys

I highly doubt u can get louder with the 1 18 over 4 12s in your application. have u tried building a different box.

Upgrade your amp now. Those CVR's can take 600 rms each musically.

I'm doing a 143+ on termlab in Street Beat on a single DD 9510 in my Saleen....So if your not even doing a 140...I'd say yes a single good quality sub will be louder....At one show I was running 4 DD 1508's and was louder than 3 vehicles I know of that ran 4 15's each...one was CVR's...The other was RE SX's....I'm not sure of the 3rd on brand....another show with 2 DD 3510's in the hatch...I was louder than a Hummer H2 with a ported wall of 4top of the line RF 15's.....I'm not sure about other brands of subs...but from my experience DD's are the loudest subs made....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Keep the 4 12's and wall it off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . That will get louder . Unless you like your back seat . It's going to be tough to get a single sub in your trunk louder than the 4 12's . Not saying it can't be done .

that's probly your best bet. Make sure it's braced very strong and tuned great and you should be alot louder.

i will say though, when i went to a single sub on a shit loud of power, i could never have been happier. IMO single beast subs with an asston of power are way more fun than haveing several mid level subs.

Thats what Im thinking, a MT 18 on 2000+ watts would be nice, but I cant uprade electrical much right now, I just got 1/0 but need some help on the Big 3. Maybe flip can help me out. I guess the new game plan in new box, braced, 45 in teh corners, resin.

i say drop 2 of the subs, and get yourself a well designed box running about 750 per cvr...
