1 sub or 2 subs?

Xmax plays into the equation as well, how far the sub moves factors into how much air it moves...

It all boils down to how much air is moved. Using a sealed enclosure for simplicity, one sub at 700watts or 2 identical subs at 350watts each. What happens when you cut the power to your sub in half? It moves less. Now add together two subs that are moving less than the single sub, and the displacement differences come down to factors such as power compression.
