1 sub or 2?? (Off just 1 amp)

My amp can power (at 4 ohms) either:

1) 1 sub at 110W RMS/ 160W max (bridged)

2) 2 subs at 40W RMS/ 80W max

Would 2 subs @ 40W RMS provide more volume, or punch, than just 1 @ 110W RMS?

There'd physically be more air moving (I think), but they'd be getting less power each.

The sub itself is 150W RMS/ 300W max.
