Here we go. My HU only has one preout, and I currently have my sub amp running to it with the lpf set at 80hz on the HU. I just got an amp for my components (kx200.2) and I'm going to run a rca from the output of the kx850.2 to the input of the 200.2 Will it be fine with the frequency set up like this? My components do have crossovers. If you need any more information, please ask. Thanks.

if the xover is on the HU you can't have it set to 80hz of it will not send anything over that to the amps so your comps won't get the highs they need. You would need to jsut set the preout to fullrange and set the xovers directly on the amps

In my experience with a set of alpine amps, i had to run the rca to the component amp first and then to the sub amp to get it to sound right, but that was just my case. Thought I might throw that out there.

make sure that the headunit crossover is off.

make sure that one of your amps have an output that the crossovers dont effect. (You shouldnt have to worry about that.)

Then run them from the headunit to the amp that has the pass through to the other amp.

Or

Use a LOC (line out converter) on one amp and the RCA's for the other.

I think my cd player is screwed up. This is the second time that I've hooked up a speaker amp (first time a US amp) and not gotten any output from it. I'm missing options that I once had and I don't have some of the options that I need, which are in my manual (such as full range).

Also, know if you daisy chain the signal (rca to comp amp, and then rca from comp amp to sub amp) you will lose your fader, so that may be enough to use a line out converter for the component's amp. In a lot of ways, speaker level inputs are cleaner than rca-level because they are a true balanced input, though I doubt that is of much interest to you.

So, do I need to run the RCA that comes from the headunit to the comp amp first? I currently have the rca going to the sub amp first and I'm not getting any output from my comp amp.

I'm still not getting high pass from my component amp. I hooked it up to my subs and set it to low pass and my subs played, so I'm sure that it works now. I think the problem is that I can't get the crossover on my HU to turn off.

Edit - the option to turn off the crossover is called "nonfader" in my book. I've followed the steps and nonfader will not show up as an option.
