1 ohm or .5 ohm?

I have a Hifonic Hercules. I was wanting to know if I should run it @ .5 ohm daily. I've heard people say they've fried them at this impedence and I've heard people say they've ran fine @ .5 ohm. I know that alot of it depends on my electical and my electrical is pretty decent besides me upgrading to 1/0 gauge which I'm doing this weekend. If ran @ .5 ohm what kind of power would it put out? I need to know before I order my subs. ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

personally, i wouldn't take the chance. unless you have the money to replace it if it doesnt work out.

stick to 1ohm, no offense but i wouldnt exactly call your electrical up to par, going by whats in your sig

figure out if it's stable at .5. if it is, figure out the draw it takes compared to the power you have. if the latter is > the earlier you should be good. but i'm gonna stick with i wouldnt do it.

there is a point of diminishing returns, and infact there are amps that are controlled to the point that they actually give out less power at lower ohms, although they will safely play at the lower ohms, eg. ULA 2500

I remember a fosgate amp of some model does that, like silly even. At 2 ohms its like 1000 watts, and at 1 ohm its like 600....

Ive ran amps at .5 Personally it just sucks knowing that its running at .5. I even ran Sundown amps at .5 and it still made me nervous. Expecially since I play my system ALOT. If you plan on playing it ALOT id go fro 1ohm daily.

i have ran my hifonics brutus 1606d at .5 ohm on my 15'' re mx. it did it but would get hot and go into protect here and there if i was playing a hard beat. i put it back to 2 ohms just to be safe. u can do it but you are chancing ur amp...id say baby it
