Hi everybody, I am wanting some tips on a few things first of all i have a 98 mustang with a custom box that has .80 airspace so i was told from the guy who built it and right now i have 2 12" kenwood subs with a concept cc-d800 amp 2 channel..i am going to buy new mono block amp and 2 12" subs that have low airspace req. i am wanting to use a 1 ohm setup but i am not sure if that is the best way to go atm.. i am looking at the Memphis 16PRD500.1 and Rockford Fosgate P312D4 subs. is 1ohm setup look good for the items i posted or should i look into something els? and can anyone post good subs that don't req. a lot of airspace?

i read somewhere that said running lowers ohms decreases the wattage of the speaker so instead of 500watt rms @ 4 ohms i would get like 200 or something like that @ 1 ohm thats why i chose the 500watt amp is this correct?...and could i get a 700.1+ amp and the speakers be ok?

no if a speaker is meant to handle say 150 watts its going to handle 150 and more if you know what your doing.

Running your amp at lower ohms gives your speakers more wattage depending on the amp.

Are you talking about subwoofers or speakers? I think you can only get 4ohms for door speakers anyway.

the ohm rating of an amp has nothing to do with the sub and your not gonna find a single coil 1ohm sub

if you have an amp rated at 1000x1 @ 1ohm get a sub rated at around 1000RMS with dual 2ohm coils and wire in parallel

or two 500+RMS subs with single 4ohm coils wired in parallel to each other, then parallel to the amp

lol, oops i meant to say amp not sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.... look if i get a 1000watt amp @ 1 ohm will those speakers handle it? and you cant run 4 ohm single voice coil speakers in 1 ohm can you???

ya sorry, i meant dual, kinda drinking

you can run 4 single 4ohm subs at 1ohm though

all i see up there is "2 12" kenwood subs" so no idea, depends on model
