1 mtx thunder 9500 15 inch or 1 orion hcca 15 inch. which subwoofer would be best for: clarity, loudness, power, durability, etc... and for both which box would be best, either a sealed or ported, i was thinking of getting a sealed box once i decide which sub to get because clarity is more important to me than loudness and power.

9500 for clarity cuz the hcca will be stupid low and loud, but its not very clear. the 9500 would be good for what you want, better than an hcca in those terms cuz of clarity only. IMO

Other than clarity, the hcca will handle stupid power (clean power)...be loud and durable. also easily reconed. 9500 has to be custom reconed but not too much of a hassle. either way thats all MY opinion.Good Luck

Thanks for the info, but keep in mind the mtx 9500 is way underrated. Is kicks the JL w7's *** and the kicker solo baric l7. pretty much from what I've heard from people and read online is that the Orion is really loud and powerful but I haven't heard anything about clarity. If its just a loud powerful sub and doesn't sound good clarity wise then I'm probly gonna go with the 9500.

Ever seen the cross section of an HCCA? I'd vote 9500. If you ever blow it, you can turn it into a decent monster.

Side note: Even if going for sound quality, a ported box will sound better across all frequencies. It doesn't always have to be louder if you don't want it to either, there's this nifty thing called a gain where you can turn it down if it's too much output.
