okay well i just built my box for a 12'' ava to fit inside a reg cab s10. and when i got home form my grandpa's shop (he has all the tools) the sub didn't fit in the GD box! i figured i was about an inch off of the mounting depth. now i have three options 1.make a new face outta the scrap 3/4 mdf board i have 2. make a 11'' ring and screw it around the org. face just like 6.5'' ring for speakers 3. build new top, bottom and side pieces. now i have extra board thats not the problem. I'm pissed and i want it done:furious: . what would be the best way to fix this?? and if 3/4 isn't enough could i router out about a 1/2 of the back to give me the adequate mounting depth? thanks for your help guys

1.) the enter key is your friend

2.) did you glue it yet? I hope not

3.) if not, did you have intentions on gluing it together? i hope so.

4.) the avalanche has a pole vent, and it needs to breathe. so you need about 2" clearance behind the sub.

5.) 3/4" will not be enough

6.) sealed or ported?

7.) the enter key is definitely your friend.

looks like you will be building.. well.. basically a new box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

You need about 3" more mounting depth, which you'll only get by starting over. Sorry

the avalanches pole vent is tiny... you dont need 2" behind it. Also if the face is angled then that also helps with the amount of room behind the vent. you can make a 1.5" thick ring and put it on the enclosure and more than likely that is all you would need.
