$1,500: what to do?

Hows it going. i got a bit of christmas money and know basically nothing about car audio. Ive been driving around with a stock system for about a year now and always feel very jealous of friends of mine when they're able scare little old ladies with their systems. So ive decided to put this money to good use and buy a sound system. If any one could hook me up with any sort of tips about this shit and maybe point me in a direction id really appreciate it. As I said im an idiot when it comes to this stuff.

spl is just pure loud and not hearing music

sql is being loud but having an all around great sounding system

SPL= Sound pressure level, basically as loud as possible

SQL=Sound quality level, not as loud but sounds good doing it

i would say do a nice sql set up

id say

cdt audio speakers

alpine or pioneer higher end decks

sundown amps are great and not that expensive

for subs try either ssa icons, fi bl, dd 2500s, aq's theres manymany options

Dont worry about it haha. I think sQL is definitely the direction im going for. Is it a bad idea to go some big store to get this stuff done? Should I get this stuff off the internet. And will anything fit any car? How many watts should I go for with my amp. What diameter sub should I look for? I know im asking alot of questions.

Big stores = fail

Buy stuff online and build your own box and install stuff yourself, theres plenty of people here to walk you through it if you dont know how
